Privacy
This page covers PuzzleShadow and the Smallgames Studio website. It is intended in particular for parents and legal guardians.
Who can you contact?
Christophe Cuoq, based in France, is responsible for data processing carried out by the studio. Smallgames Studio is the trading name used for PuzzleShadow. For data-related questions or requests, email contact@smallgames-studio.com. Publisher details are provided in the legal notice.
In the game
PuzzleShadow offers children’s puzzles and contains no advertising. Its public App Store listing declares the following categories as not linked to your identity:
- Usage data: product interactions and other usage data, for analytics.
- Diagnostics: crash and performance data, for analytics and app functionality; other diagnostic data for app functionality.
These are the categories declared on the App Store. They do not guarantee that all technical data is anonymous. Also consult Apple’s privacy details for the version you use.
Technical services in the game
The game is built with Unity. Depending on the active services and version used, Unity may receive technical information about the device, system, sessions and game usage, as well as IP addresses and technical identifiers. This information supports operation, diagnostics and analytics for the services concerned. Unity may process it directly under its player privacy policy.
The Android update in preparation targets the historical app, package com.smallgamesstudio.puzzlekidshadows. Data safety information for the distributed version is provided on its Google Play listing. Difficulty and sound settings are stored locally and can be removed by clearing the app’s data. The update keeps the historical full-version product to support restoration of existing Google Play purchases; restoration still needs to be tested with the version in preparation before release.
Purchases and settings
Apple handles payments on iOS; Google Play handles payments for the Android version when distributed through that store. The game uses Unity Purchasing to buy and restore the full version. This process does not give the studio access to your payment card details. The full-version unlock status is stored on your device.
When you contact support
We receive your email address and any information you choose to send. We use it to handle your request and reply. Do not send information identifying your child, passwords or payment details.
On this website
The website includes no audience measurement tools, application cookies, advertising or data collection forms. Fonts and images are served with the site. Cloudflare, the hosting provider, may process technical information needed to deliver and secure the website, such as IP addresses and request information.
Purposes and retention
We handle support requests to answer questions and provide the requested service, based on our legitimate interest in providing support or performance of the service, depending on the request. Website security is based on our legitimate interest in protecting its operation. Consent applies where required; processing carried out by Apple, Google or Unity under their own responsibility is described in their policies.
Support correspondence is kept while handling the request and necessary follow-up, then deleted when no longer needed, unless legally required or necessary as evidence in a dispute. Local settings remain on the device until removed. Retention of technical data managed by providers depends on the purpose and rules of the services concerned.
Recipients and transfers
Recipients are the publisher and providers needed for support, hosting or game functionality, including Cloudflare, Apple, Google and Unity for their respective services. Providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Their policies describe applicable safeguards, including adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses depending on the transfer.
Your requests
Email us to request information or exercise applicable data rights, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and, where applicable, portability. You may withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the legal basis. A parent or legal guardian can contact us about a child. We will explain what is possible for the data concerned. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL or your local supervisory authority.
Third-party services and updates
Store services and technical services used by the game have their own policies. See the privacy information from Apple, Google, Unity and Cloudflare. This page will be updated when practices or services change.
